Location type: campCamping Rosental ROZ

Gotschuchen, AustriaCountry: Austria

The family-friendly Rosental Rož campsite is located at 430 m above sea level in the Drau valley floor at the foot of the Karawanken in the sunny south of Austria. In the middle of the campsite there is a small swimming lake, which is fed by the clear water of the mountains and, due to its size of approx. 8,000 m2, quickly reaches bathing temperature. The area is divided into 430 pitches, all with electricity (16A), many with their own water connection and some also with sewage connection. The WiFi covers the entire area and internet access is free. Natural, crystal-clear spring drinking water runs from all taps on the campsite! There are only meadows, forests and streams around the campsite - pure nature.

Still closed for visitors 5 July 2021. Open for members. Very unfriendly staff told me to go away when I arrived by bicycle at 9pm to pitch my tent for the night in bad weather. No one nearby. Ended up sleeping in a roadside shelter.

Price was a bit high for what you get. The bathroom was not very clean, and one of the toilet stall locks did not work. The view at the river is very beautiful. Location is fine, 10 minute walk to Monschau centre.

We called the night before our arrival and we were assured that there was room for us. Upon arrival they send us back becauce there was no room. I explained in English that we called the night before and that we gave our last name, but they had no clue what we were talking about. I showed them the number and location to make sure we were at the correct spot and guess what, of cource we were. Very upsetting when you expect to be able to spend the night there only to be made a fool off. After looking around i was not mad that we didn't stay the night. Very small spots with basicly no privacy

Quiet site on the river although static caravans all along the river bank. Functional site in need of some serious upgrading. At €8 per person you can't complain though, were 4 of us on bicycles doing the Vennbahn cycle route Short 1.5km walk to town. Quite a depressing site, has a clubhouse but overnighters are not welcome. Strange.
