Vila Franca de Xira

Very nice staff, top reception, helpful material given including timetable for the suburban trains. Security service at night, largely quiet, expressway audible but about 500m away down the slope in town. Sanitary facilities okay, but a bit older. Lisbon: 15-20 min walk to the train station and then 35-40 min (2-3x/hour) by train to Santa Apolonia, day ticket recommended for around 11 euros (valid for all means of transport, including the famous yellow trams in Lisbon) . This place probably saved us a lot of stress in Lisbon, so we can recommend it.
