Accommodation for those, who do not look for a luxury. There is a possibility of dinner for extra charge (the best tajine I have eaten in Morocco). Perfect location in front of the desert.

The bed was comfortable, the room was sizable, the ensuite bathroom met our needs and the price was fair. The tagine was the best I've had all through Morocco, and the berber omelette was awesome. The proprietor was very friendly and helpful. The wifi is slow. Located literally on the edge of the desert, and a few hundred meters away from the chaos of the town itself.

The place has a great environment. Moka and Youssef are very friendly and they made us felt like we were at home. They also can prepare dinner and breakfast for you for good prices. The Tagine and the Morocco pancakes were simply amazing. They also offered a camel trip to sleep in the middle of the Sahara dunes... the dessert it is a bit cool during the night but the sky is wonderful. It is possible to see the milky way easily.

All the reviews about Youssef are true! Such a genuine honest man. Doesn't try to push any sales on you which was important to us. He is more than accommodating. We arrived on the 6am bus. The second we got there he had tea for us and put on the space heater. We didn't end up staying a night at the hostel because we were short on time. But we booked a camel trek through him. Prices fair. Included dinner and breakfast the next morning. And even though we didn't end up staying at the hotel he let us take a shower and take a nap in the berber tent before our trek at 4 pm without charging us. Helped us book our bus out the next day too. Thank you Youssef!

TOTALLY RECOMMEND
This was by far our best accommodation in Morrocco. We arrived in Merzouga at around 9:30 p.m., Yousef (the owner) and one of his emoloyees came to pick us up from the bus station to make sure we got to auberge safe and didn't get lost. Upon arrival we were immediately offered tea (also, one of the best we had in Morocco) and Yousef spent time with us talking about the country and its people. In the morning we had very tasty breakfast, with coffee, tea and orange juice. We checked out from the room at 12p.m. and wanted to go to the dunes. Yousef offered that we can leave our luggage in the common room and when we came back we were again given tea and allowed to use the shower. Overall a perfect experience. Rooms and facilities were very clean, the dunes are literally in the backyard of the hotel and the owner is as hospitable as one can hope for.
