Everything you need expect from a large site, all done very tastefully. Because the area is very popular, the site is quite a busy one, so if you are after a quiet stay on the wild camping side, then perhaps not the site for you.

We have just returned from staying at South Lytchett Manor and it was one of the best U.K. holidays we have ever been on! From the minute you arrive you are greeted by really friendly staff who show you to your pitch and explain how to set up. Ou pitch was huge with Electric hook-up and TV point . The grass was cut nearly every day keeping everywhere immaculately tidy. The children’s play park is perfect for children up to the age of 10 , some night children would be in the park past the stated closing time and someone from the site would appear to politely tell them it was closed. The toilet and shower facilities were amazing! So clean ( we noticed that they are closed for cleaning at least 3 times a day) and there are 3 blocks throughout the site with some additional posh port-a-Loos in the non electric field. There are fresh cut flowers in the bathroom and music is piped in during daytime hours so you don’t have to hear noises from anyone else 🤣. There was also 2 Family bathrooms (one bigger than the other) which made it very easy to take my children with me for a shower and teeth clean each evening. it’s worth noting that the hand drier in the family bathrooms is significantly quieter than the hand drier in the main bathrooms , which if you have a child with sensory issues can be a very good thing - for this reason we used the family bathroom most of the time. There is a token operated laundry room in the centre of the park which was a lifesaver as we had set off during 3 weeks of horrendous weather all packed for cold and wet and arrived at the start of a heat wave with limited summer clothing, so being able to wash it was great! The staff are incredibly friendly and were happy to advise us on the local area and quieter beaches to avoid crowds . I recommend a trip to Knoll Beach which although busy is much quieter than sandbanks. Food trucks visit the park 3 nights a week. Fab burgers from The Dorset Food Co! Also recommend the Woodfired Pizza truck that comes for very reasonably priced and quick pizzas! I personally wouldn’t recommend the fish and chip truck, very expensive and slow to serve and order - especially when there is a fish and chip shop a short walk/2 minute drive down the road. In addition to the play park our kids loved being able to feed the chickens and the walk up to the duck pond which is reached through the games field. There is a separate field for off lead dog walking . And my only gripe from the whole week is that people in our field were letting their dogs roam About off lead in the evenings , albeit very well behaved dogs. Whilst there weren’t any unpleasant issues , it is a rule for a reason and can be quite unsettling when a large dog approaches your small child when you do not know if it is friendly . However this is not the fault of the site at all and comes down to the individual dog owner. To sum up, we had the best time! So much so that before we left we have booked to return next year!
