Good and tidy facilities, very friendly and professional staff. Beautiful walking and cycling possibilities. The ideal place to rest and relax while enjoying nature.
Despite all the good reviews, we think this campsite is the worst in Europe. To get to the campsite you first have to drive through Esch sur Alzette with many traffic lights and very sharp bends. Then begins a quite steep climb of about 3 km with very sharp bends, intersections and zebra crossings. So if things go wrong, you will have to brake during the steep and winding climb because someone has to cross. At the last km before the campsite there is a barrier that can be taken down from the reception so that access to the campsite is blocked. The campsite staff does this during their lunch break, but also when it becomes too busy for them at the reception and their restaurant. Then you stand on a steep road in front of a barrier and despite the push button at the barrier to call the reception, there is no response. Then there is only one thing to do... drive backwards down the mountain with your caravan because turning around on the steep road is not possible. Do not go there when the weather is nice or during the weekend. You can often read similar stories on reviews from other websites.
Friendly staff, friendly price. Dated sanitary facilities but clean with a good shower with hot water. So good ratio I would say. Yes, it is not a 5-star campsite, but are you looking for that? Good base for "zoo" the city, geocaching or climbing. Needed blocks for straightening.
We were very kindly helped by the camping staff when we got stuck in the mud at the campsite. The sanitary facilities are very much in need of renewal (old gang) but clean. Many permanent places that do not all look equally cared for and are also close to each other. Access and trails on site very tight and inconvenient. No recommendation.
