Pure holiday desire in the heart of the Upper Harz! Excellent campsite in the mountains. Very quiet and peaceful place, beautiful panoramic view. Excellent hiking opportunities. Reservations in high season are to be ordered. Only 15 minutes walk to the town center. Lots of good restaurants & pubs. Enjoyed the peace and quiet of this small very friendly campsite, located on an old railway station in Altenau. Owners could not have been more obliging, were very friendly and made us welcome. Fresh baked rolls delivered to your doorstep, Due to Covid-19 restaurant closed. Water/waste services all easily accessible, 20 Electric & 10 non-electric pitches, pitches on a level and hard surface Village close by with walks in the countryside and forests nearby. Thank you for a very enjoyable stay

An excellent place to stop with very friendly and helpful hosts.

Nice secluded camp ground which has room for tents as well as campers. The owners are friendly and straightforward. Perfect location for people hiking the national park. Can use some maintenance outside and additional showers.

Excellent camping place with outstanding hiking possibilities. Only 5 min walk and you have a lake to swim in. I would highly recommend to order the fresh made rolls that is delivered to your tent or camper. Thank you William and Monique for everything.

The campground is high in the mountains and so peaceful. The owners are the most freandly people you could wish to meet. Even made fresh bread rolls for us and gave us a few eggs from there own chickens.
