Alberto is the nicest man we've met on our way on GR 11. He helped us every way he could and his english was fluent which was a huge surpirse. Thank you Alberto for your kindness, we'll never forget you! 😊 Dinner was also magnificent, especially after other refugio's menus. Huge salads, delicious chicken. This refuge gave us huge relief on our journey. Thanks again.

After a long, beautiful day hiking amongst nature, it's so special to arrive at this refuge perched romantically atop a.... CARPARK. Honestly, who designs this stuff? We love nature! You love nature! The last thing we want to see as we relax over a drink is see the tops of cars. Helena, if you're reading this, please move the carpark! We heard about this bad planning days before arriving from other hikers. Other than that, the team there are LOVELY. The food is literally the best I've ever had in a refuge, I still think of it. The space is clean and well organised. Hopefully they fix the car park.

The staff were the best. After a long day they are exactly the people you want to be dealing with. Calm, professional and hard working. The food is top quality as well. A real pressure to stay here. Thank you. We will be back soon

The only place in Spain where you can get your coffee in a big mug 😃 Joking of course, but it was good to warm up with hot coffee and fried eggs & bacon after a night in a mountain shelter and a 9km walk! And use their internet service to let people know where you are!! Thanks for the hospitality!!

Understand the comment about the access road. We were here in October and bet on less traffic. That was still quite disappointing. There is a large parking lot for day trippers next to the campsite, which was very popular. Still, without too many problems, we got our 7.5 meters up. It would not have been possible in the case of rain, now and then slipping away and sometimes over slippery rocks (with deep potholes). But the reward is fantastic. The place is spectacular. Actually 5 stars, but then you should expect more luxury (especially electricity, not important to us). Advice for driving in and out: try to choose the time in such a way that you have few oncoming traffic. In the morning the camping guests leave, in the evening the day trippers. We arrived around 13:30 to 14:00, it was doable. Ditto for departure around 9:00 am. Keep in mind that the last 6.6 unpaved kilometers require about half an hour of intensive driving (not recommended if you are tired after a full day of driving).

Impossible to get there with a large camper. The roads are too narrow, passing cars can only just pass by, if you meet another large camper you will have a problem. The paved road turns into a rough road, then it gets so steep that our camper came to a stop and we had to back up in reverse to finally be able to turn. Radiated fear of death.
